What’s new

Banking formats

The following new format is now available in Payroll, Purchase and Cashbook:

·        BOS Commercial.

·        Standard 18 (this format was already in Payroll).

VAT

A new ‘Reverse Domestic Charge’ check box has been added to the VAT Codes form to cater for items in the telecommunications industry that should be accounted under the Reverse Charge mechanism but the De-Minimis level of £5,000 does not apply. The validation remains applicable to items such as mobile phones and computer chips.

The Detailed VAT Audit Trail and Detailed VAT Values reports have been improved to have the ability to report on a specific VAT code.

The Detailed VAT Audit Trail now has a checkbox called 'Show Comment' that is active when VAT Adjustments (only) are selected from the list. The comments from a VAT Adjustments are shown on the report.

Supply Chain Management

Purchase Orders required date for all lines

A date box has been added to the header form for purchase orders and purchase documents so you can choose a ‘Required’ date for all detail lines. The date chosen will override the lead time set up for any stock item with Supplier Product information.

Sales and Purchase Ledgers

Writing off balances on foreign customers or suppliers

When allocating receipts or payments for foreign customers or suppliers you can now write off any balances that aren't worth chasing. For example, $100.00 is received for an invoice of $100.10. The written off amount is posted to the write off account that is specified in the Adjustment Names form.

Writing off balances when Prompt Payment Discounting does not apply

You can now write off balances in both home and foreign currency where Prompt Payment Discounting rules that apply in the United Kingdom are not used, for example in Ireland.

Prompt Payment Discount in the Sales and Purchase views

A checkbox has been added to the View and History forms to allow VAT adjustments posted by the Prompt Payment Discounting rules to be included in the value fields. For the sales in particular the margin calculated will now be more accurate.

What’s new

This release includes:

Scottish Tax Rates:

In late February 2017 the Scottish Parliament confirmed changes to the standard rate Scottish Tax band from £31,930 to £31,500.  This release contains the updated Scottish Tax band.

This release also contains the resolution to a problem encountered when using payments linked to a reducing balance deduction profile (where the corresponding accumulated deduction balance is to be reduced by the amount of payment); e.g. holiday payments. This release must be used for processing such payments.

What’s new

This release includes:

Payrolling company car benefits. The Full Payment Submission (FPS) in the 2017-18 tax year can include company car details if the employer wants to payroll this benefit.

Apprenticeship levy. The way that the Government funds apprenticeships in England is changing in the 2017-18 tax year. Some employers will be required to pay a new apprenticeship levy. Funding for apprenticeships will also change.

Electronic P60 formats. These have been updated, and approved by HMRC.

Scottish Income Tax rates and bandwidths. The Scotland Act 2016 provides the Scottish Parliament with powers to set the income tax rates and bands that will apply to Scottish taxpayers.

New advanced payments & deductions report (Opera 3 only). The advanced payments & deductions list is a new multi-period, multi-payment and deduction report.

PAYE, NI and statutory payments. The rates, bandwidths and thresholds have been updated according to changes announced in the Autumn Statement.

Auto enrolment thresholds. These have been updated according to the changes announced by The Pensions Regulator.
